As part of our commitment to medical education, Gladstone Medical Centre has been providing medical education and tuition to medical students from Liverpool University since 1998. In addition, since 2005, we became involve in the training of post-graduate doctors in General Practice, providing both clinical and educational supervision for Foundation Doctors.
These students and doctors spend some time with the GPs, Management staff and the Nursing staff of the practice to learn about different aspects of patient care in a Primary Care setting.
If you do not wish to be seen by a trainee doctor or have medical student present during your consultation, please let the Receptionists know by the time you book your appointment.
Nursing students in their final training program have also been attached to this practice for the past 8 years. The nurse structure, under nurse Sue Passingham, has provided very high quality training to these nurses in a primary care setting.
We have also taken on school students (age 14-16) for work experience from the local schools since 1995. This programme has been very successful in giving students an insight into a work environment. We have had very positive feedback from the schools and the students.
